Santana was perfect for Globalquerque weekend
"Derby's use of rhythms based in many cultures helps expand our understanding of the world. The show in Albuquerque occurred on the weekend of Globalquerque - a festival to celebrate world music and culture. I was in awe of the talented music from the 60s and 70s, to which many at the show were exposed in their youth. Excellent musicianship was exhibited by all on stage. The use of multiple artists' melodies and songs helped promote the name of the show - Sound of Collective Consciousness Tour. I realized that it is because of Derby that I'm a lover of diverse music. Derby has been influential in promoting what is now called "World Music" before there was such a genre."
